Lucky Seven: Out of this World — Roswell's UFO Fest returns

The 2013 Roswell UFO Festival start July 4 weekend





Set for July 5-7, at the Roswell Civic Center, Convention and Visitors Center, Goddard Planetarium, Roswell Museum and Art Center, UFO Museum, Cielo Grande Park and other sites around Roswell, there is more than enough for everyone to enjoy. July 6 highlights include the Alien Parade at 8:30 p.m, and 19th annual Alien Chase 10k and 5k runs at 7 a.m. The popular Alien Costume contest is set for 10 a.m. for pets and 3 p.m. for humans.
There will also be several planetarium laser light shows, a galactic vendor market, UFO symposiums, lectures and arts and crafts throughout the weekend.
Many of the events are free, but be sure to check ufofestivalroswell.com. Schedules and tickets are also available online. In addition to the UFO Fest, Roswell will also have a July 4 Barbecue, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Elks Lodge #969, 1720 N. Montana Ave. followed by the city's annual fireworks display.
