Two ‘Experienced Skywatchers’ Claim They Saw UFO On Both Sides Of The Atlantic

Alien investigators have been independently contacted by two “experienced skywatchers” who claim to have seen an unusually slow-moving UFO on Sunday night, The Express reported.

According to the report, the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) was contacted by amateur astronomers in Ireland and the USA with reports about two separate sightings earlier today. The Mutual UFO Network is an American non-profit organization that investigates cases of alleged UFO sightings. Originally established in Quincy, Illinois in 1969, the organization is now headquartered in Newport Beach, California, and claims 3,000 members worldwide with chapters in every US state.
The Express reported one witness, whose name has not been released by MUFON, sent in a video of a bright object crossing the night sky. The video was made in Olancha, California, by an “all-sky night camera,” the report stated. The MUFON report ruled out the possibility of the object in question being a satellite or a meteor.
“Our all-sky night camera caught this unusual bright object pass overhead, Highway 395 Inyo county, heading west over the Sierra Nevada,” the report said. “It was too late at night to be a satellite (plus satellites don’t travel E to W) and too slow for a meteor. The entire passage lasted 80 seconds.”
The MUFON report went on to describe the details of the flight, questioning the possibility of the UFO being an aircraft.
“An aircraft might be possible, but normally aircraft at night flying high are almost totally dark and invisible, this thing got near magnitude -6 at the high point, with multiple colors white, green, pink. Unlikely to be aircraft headlights, since it got brightest when it was nearly overhead, not when approaching, so would be looking right at the object’s side when brightest,” the Express cited the report saying.
“This is a rural area with no nearby airports. Was indoors at the time, so can’t say if it made any sound or not. No loud sound,” it added.
The Republic of Ireland, where one of the UFO sightings came from, is eight hours ahead of California, where the other UFO sighting was reported. As neither witness gave an exact time of their sighting to MUFON, the organization was unable to tell where the object was seen first.
The second UFO sighting report came from a witness in Westport, in County Mayo, on the west coast of Ireland. The witness, whose name and personal details were also missing from the MUFON report, claims that he has frequently seen strange things in the night sky, but nothing as peculiar as this.
The MUFON report for his UFO sighting said: “I’m an experienced sky watcher in the West of Ireland and know very well what aircraft look like. I live on a busy air corridor from the US to Europe. I also know what a satellite and space debris looks like. Tonight I saw a strobe-like flash in the sky to the north-west from the corner of my eye and again several seconds later.”
Further in the report, the witness stated that they locked onto the UFO they’ve sighted and managed to count 13 seconds between single, white, strobe-like flashes coming from the object.
“It initially appeared not to be moving but I soon realized it was moving considerably slower than an aircraft or way slower than a satellite and space debris,” the report continued. “It took over an hour to cross the sky and seemed to be at great altitude or in orbit.”
The witness claimed that they had checked flight radar websites, as well as several satellite tracking apps thoroughly, all of which “revealed nothing” about the possibility of the UFO sighted being an aircraft flying over the area.
“I tried to capture a video but my phone wasn’t up to the job. I watch the sky on a nightly basis and have seen loads of strange stuff which I could explain but this was very different from anything I’ve seen,” the report concluded.
According to The Express, MUFON has already started investigations on both cases. The organization still hasn’t confirmed whether or not these two UFO sightings were related.
According to from the National UFO Reporting Centre (NUFORC), around 5,000 cases of UFO sightings were reported in 2017 alone. Out of the total 4,655 reports the International Business Times reported, 490 UFO sightings were made in California.
Since 2016, 27 sightings have been reported in Manhattan, while 24 sightings of “radiant, round lights and mysterious fireballs” have been reported in Brooklyn.
Since its founding in 1974, NUFORC has cataloged more than 90,000 reported UFO sightings, most of which took place in the United States.
